Hoke's Latest Resume Reel
Ryan's interest in weather started young. As a child his fear of thunderstorms blossomed into a intense interest in weather. Ryan set out to get a head start in broadcast meteorology by starting his own weather website for the Louisville, Kentucky area as a high school sophomore. When Ryan started college in 2009, his website had amassed 106 weekly weather forecast videos, over 800 daily weather blog entries, two live television appearances, and even earned Ryan a tour guide position with Storm Chasing Adventure Tours at age 17.
At just 19 years old in September 2010, Ryan became the weekend morning weathercaster at WBBJ-TV in Jackson, Tennessee and held that title through most of his college years. After completing his meteorology degree at Mississippi State University in 2013, Ryan began his work as a broadcast meteorologist at WAVE 3 News in his hometown of Louisville. He has held the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society, the gold-standard for broadcast meteorologists, since 2014.
